Jesuits have paid €7.4m in settlement costs to abuse survivors (via The Irish Times)

Congregation encourages anyone abused by Fr Joseph Marmion or any Jesuit to contact them and/or relevant authorities.

The Jesuit congregation in Ireland has, to date, received 149 allegations of abuse against 43 of its priests, while just one case has led to criminal proceedings. Settlements have been agreed with 78 people alleging abuse, at a cost to the congregation of €7.4 million, which includes legal, counselling and medical costs.
